chetz,rebuilding the entire GB with new parts will cost you around 5-6k and i personally feel it's pretty damn good. forget about replacing a brand new GB unless money is not a concern. diagnostic done at specialist can not always be trusted as they too are human and can make wrong judgment. they might end up trial and error to replace a few parts n charge for labour before getting to the problem. i'd say that's money not worth spending. again, dependent on what's quoted to change whatever the mechanic suggested. as for mileage i'm guessing it's 100k + and not 10k+ ?
