E46 Engine conversion

Dear All Sifus, Is it possible to install M52B28 engine & g/box from an E39 to E46 318i? Any major issue? Thanks :love:

Bro,
Plan to get E46 and swap the engine over fr yr E39?
I think the engine mounting parts is difference. L4 much shorten then L6

IM... yes, possible to install it... but you will need a lot of parts.. the worst is in dash wiring of the dashboard if the e46 318 wiring is not suitable...

engine mounts, gearbox mounts, long shaft, rear differential all need to swap...

BMW not like Japanese car just swap over then can start the engine
ECU and EWS need to swap too

Thanks for the reply. Yup that's my idea, get an E46 318 & E39 M54B25/B30 half cut.
Just thinking as one of the option. If it troublesome & more costly then just get an E46 328. But then the roadtax & insurance is killing:stupid:

Bro ... why dun just get M54B30/25 E46 halfcut instead of E39 unless you have E39 halfcut in hand oledi?
but i think better put supra engine 1jze i think and go turbocharge hehehe should be cheaper i think :top:

No coz I've done a lot to my E39 engine already. Sorry bro no japs in my bimmer. Pls see my signature. This is not bout power only, its more on driving feel & handling.
I guess I have to defer my plan.

You are correct bro :top:. Must have a lane for "RM500 & above road tax lane". Same like bus lane. Sometimes RM2 road tax motorcycle on highway also take up one entire left lane at 80kph. If you can't beat malaysian drivers, join malaysian drivers!
