did you check ur coolant level? Myabe your sensor are not working and there is no coolant inside?Also it might be a problem of Ignition coils, o2 sensors and Electrical (alternator/regulator/battery)BTW when you say Hot, you mean the temp meter is in hot? that means the engine are overheating that is why it will auto shutdown to protect the engine...
