hello guys, Im Sufian from Puchong. em Im lookin for E46 sedan and coupe last two months, got this used car sellin me E46 sedan 328i 2000 for 45K best price/by cash.its a ckd. i will be the fourth owner. had a test drive this morning and found out it still in stock condition.-bodykit-colour of car-seat not even in crack, black leatherso far puas hati with it just the throttle pedal really hard to step/accelthe gear change smoothly, even in the temperature not in the center yet.no noise from the engine bay and inside.clean and no leaks but will call my foreman to check.drivin it makes me so good but what in my mind is,is it a good car by its maintainance?reliable than any e46 series except m3? :pdoubt why the price is really low (i guess) rather than 325 in market?maintainance parts difference, is it hard to get?i do dont mind bout the roadtax price, but its weird when the price far away cheap from 2500cc.hope you help me out by throwin some opinion for 328i, if its good.what im going to do next, bring along my friend who have the diagnos test, check on.within a week, saw a coupe on Mudah, saw its on sale for 55K and call him seconds after adv publish, he said he's from damansara, he's not available for now/assuming busy, but after a couple of days, deleted the thread. called him but always giving excuse said will call back but never do. (till now) duno whether the guy seriously sellin his car or changing his mine suddenly. its e46 323i the no plate is W** 1001, a black color with black rim and cream leathers of seat. check the thread already deleted. help me out for my first car. phew !

Sometime seller post without much research on market demand/value therefore once received a lot of inquires they increased the price.

RM45k for 2000 made 328 sedan is about right. Go for it if no major faults.

Oh many thanks.
anyway forgot to mention already clocked 170,000.
Is it ok for BMW engine?
Will check maybe tomorrow or Monday for faulty codes :)

No pics for better justifications? I'm driving the same model (4 doors model) but no longer in stock condition. I'm planning to letting go my car but yet think about the price tag.
I think, the stated price is quite right if it in cash (for stock condition).. anyway, Where do you live? maybe we can arrange teh tarik session to share the passion towards this machine :top:

Er forgot to take pics while at the showroom la bro. Oh wonder what you do to the machine. Anyway, how the fc, parts price,
the power for 328i, the bad side for 328 if any?
Oh will consider bout it if its true, Im stayin Puchong Prima.
Yeah we will soon when I get my new machine. :)

328i resale price is lower compared to 325i bcos:
a) 328i is older compared to the 325i. BMW released the 325i to replace the 328i.
b) higher roadtax for the 2.8L engine (almost 2x of the 2.5L engine - RM16xx vs RM8xx)

i'm driving a 328i year 2000 CKD model. it has plenty of torque and it's a fun car to drive. other than the normal wear and tear like belts, cooling systems, suspension bushes, etc, you have to watch out is the gearbox. i went through 2 autobox, all giving failure. finally converted to manual. even more fun to drive now. engine runs fine. parts are quite easy to find.

Oh I see, I thought it has a problem for 328i model, Im thinkin about going for E39 528 2001 too, the price also the same but havent meet the guy yet.
What can I see is, e46 is a macho lookin car and its been a while that Im admiring at the car :)
Will see if theres any car for sale more on E46 model.

Nice, 328i and a manual tranny eh? phew ! Anyway since ur using 328i, is the engine givin any headache like 318 (2.0)? Heard its kinda prolematic engine. Just wanna know more before buyin any UDM.

328i engine is more reliable compare to 318i 2.0 valvetronic....i'm also driving 328i, as to date i'm quite satisfied with the car performance...still maintained with the auto gear box since due to heavy traffic in KL that more prefer auto than manual:D

so far puas hati with it just the throttle pedal really hard to step/accel
How do you mean the throttle pedal hard to step? Compared to a normal Japanese throttle? Or is it harder than normal European cars?

... even in the temperature not in the center yet.
The temperature dial doesn't touch center even after you test drove it?
E46s have very accurate and efficient coolant systems. They would warm up very fast and hit the middle marker within 15 minutes with normal driving and the dial would stay dead center even through afternoon traffic jams.

Oh it sounds like 328 auto gearbox keep giving problem? Does it? Anyway, why the both tranny for 328, I mean on the manual gear on auto, the shiftin is up for '+' gear, but on my friend 318 (2.0) while we shiftin up is goin '-' ?

Game R:
Em the accel pedal, its quite berat, what I mean is when I try to tekan, but that pedal thing doesnt feel like moving but the engine of course its revvin.

As to date there is no major problem for my 328i's gearbox.....somehow you have to remember that most of 328i in d market is more than 12years olds,so you have to put aside some allocation/ budget for maintenance purpose....i prefer to change the wear n tear parts before it give problem to me and i want to make sure that my car wont breakdown at roadside......"Mencegah lebih baik dari merawat"..hehehe:D

Not really la bro.. Its depends how the owner lenjan that machine, how the owner take good care to maintain it, what ATF they're using, and many fact.. A380 pun blh jahanam klw landing atas air.. So, be aware of the limit..
But can't disagree with expiry of the gearing worn out and whatsoever, cause everything on the earth have "expiry date". Its the matter of time, whether sooner or later.
As far as my experienced, I've been refurbished my gear box only ONCE, and that's happen after 11years of manufacturing date.. So, just do simple calculation whether is worth the money or not.. :top:

Oh alright, but considering it as I will be the fourth owner, I have doubt thinkin the car in problem, but really hope its in positive side. Will tell you guys more bout it soon. For 11 years, for sure gotta replace wear and tear, but dont mind as long the major stuff. Do I need lots of budget for those stuff anyway?
