Once you lock using the remote, you only can unlock using the remote or with the key with the door lock. The door handles on the inside will just operate nothing, like someone had turn on the child lock.I know this because I remember experimenting with my old E46. Asked by brother to lock me in the car from the outside using the remote and I couldn't unlock the doors from the door handles. Not sure if the door lock button on the center console can work though. That may be your last hope if the door lock cylinder is really jammed.UPDATE: Just replicated my experiment. Apparently the E39 onwards already has this feature. And sadly, once you lock it with the remote, the center console "Lock Doors" button is unable to unlock it as well. You're gonna have to cross all fingers and toes that it may just be some dirt in the door lock cylinder.</blockquote>
