Hi all sifus out there, just wana check if the boot of E39 will automatically goes up once pressed on the remote OR it still has to be lifted up manually?

If you're adventurous, you can always fit mechanical actuator that does the lifting for you!

mmmm...sounds good. Car accessories shops provide can kit the boot out that way too?

Yupe, have to lift up manually..Guess what, i always wish it can lift up automatically..sign..

You wish....my previous car was an E66. You could open and close the boot with just the remote. Gosh, I miss her..Sob!

Yes, yes...I wanna know who's done it before and how it has worked out and of course, being a penang inhabitant, how much, ah? Yoo hoo....anyone out there?

Found some trunk release kit from eBay but dunno it will work for our UDM or not....

Any comments folks?

THat's different la bro. We already have that trunk release actuator factory fitted in our UDMs. See your key fob for trunk release button. It just unlocks it. Same as what that ebay item does.

What we need is some mechanical actuator (motor driven) to extend the trunk hinge upwards thus opening your trunk wide automatically when the trunk release button is pressed on your key fob. Now that's something cool to DIY! DIY of the year la probably :top:

Possible to buy the actuator unit and relevant parts of E66 from chop shop and install/modify into E39 since it can open and close?
