oil change

Hi, bro

for this old '///M' do any one can advise what kind of ori.engine oil should be use and what is the millage for oil change will be recormended.

Thanks

you should try 10w40, 15w40, 20w50, 5w40, BUT NO 0w40 or 10w30.

semi sync or fully sync.. good oils are Castrol, ELF, Redline, Total.

the rest are just fine. for the semi sync,8000km is the max, as for the fully sync, 10,000km is okay. but remember to change the oil filter at 5000km and top up.
Dun ever keep the oil above that, it will clog up the vanos filter and later on, the vanos will kaput.

but if you are the type that runs fast, keep the oil change frequent.

regards.

Thanks bro. Finaly I found the ori engine oil spec, its TWS 10-60w. But its not cheap...anyway its only BMW specified engine oil for M3.
(dont play play my friend just paid more than 12k for his Vanos replacement..)

Now was busy to figure for:- (preffer ori. spec)
-ori spark plug, (should be NGK but not yet parts number found)
-6 speed manual gear oil (its ATF but need grade and brand ? )
-LSD oil (no idea at all)

Any link to find out all this service parts and oil needed.

awaiting for sifu infor.

Regards.

I think you can try Castrol Sport Edge 10W-60 which is formulated for highly stressed engines. Have it in my S52B32 engine for almost 2000km and it is performing very well.

As for spark plug, you would have to get the original BMW part since the M3 plugs are shorter. Transmission oil you could probably use BMW's long life oil and other brands like Red Line D4 ATF (good stuff). Redline also has LSD oil, which contains some special additives for LSD (quiet and smooth).

Cheers

Personally, I'm using Mobil 1 Gold. And for spark plugs, I got my set of Denso Iridiums at KLAuto. Its a specific set different from normal iridiums.

Thanks for help.

I found the parts number for our E36 s50b32 sparkplug

original part number is its NGK PKR 7A (12129069048)
original best new replacement is NGk iridium BKR 6EIX (6418)

great to share.
