guy, thinking about to scan a complete set of haynes repair manual and put it on the net. Think it might require a long time to scan and convert it to PDF format. However it would enrich our knowledge in understanding our car better and on the same time helping those love to DIY. But before proceeding to do the time consuming effort, anybody here against my idea maybe due to copyright issues or others.

That wat i'm thinking also. Anyway its require a lot of time and effort , just forget about the idea
aiyooo... I was hoping you are able to do that. Thought it is a good book to provide some basics to idiots like me.

Copyrights?..... but we are not selling it or making money out of it, what? Any legal guys here care to comment?

No one may be making money out of it, but Haynes would be losing money from it...so maybe its the same thing. It wouldn't reflect well on the club, express disassociation notwithstanding.

not all the information are relevant. it would be more advisable to post according to the information requested. However, please be aware of the copyright issue.. i think it is an offence to publish any extract of the book without permission from the publisher or the author..

Better to borrow or buy the hayes book if you are really in the DIY thing. it cost about RM100 plus at first but would save you in the long run..

I use the hayes as a guide and information. that way, we don't look like a idiot when the mechanic say something is wrong with the car and need to change something.. :p

I do agree with jarance. Better to buy one and use it as a reference. At least you would understand the type of work needs to be done on the car. Besides, keep the receipt and claims against your income tax.

Funny how we are willing to spend RM100 on mods but not willing to pay the same amount for a reference book.

Can you really use the receipt for income tax purposes for an individual?
Normally I thought this is not allowed for an individual. i know it is allow for company expenses...

heard people use receipt for petrol to claim, but not the maintanence bill.......
