hi, need advise and help... is it recommended for me the change the exhaust system to not to use bmw exhaust system....i jus replce wif the local exhaust shop? thanks in advance...

what's wrong with the original BMW exhaust ?
Since you just replaced with "local exhaust", just stick with it.

sorry...

typo error..

.."i jus replace wif local exhaust" it should be " or i jus replace wif local exhaust shop system"

it will damage my engine..?

sorry...n thanks..

Bro ,

Nothing beats the OEM . Stick with it unless you are upgrading to ori AC , Sebring , etc .
The local / ah beng exhaust might disrupt you cat con & O2 flow .

if you haven't see check engine light come on, you probably be fine.
what is wrong with the ori factory exhaust ?
And how big(diameter) is your new exhaust ?

i not sure if 328 exhaust same with 325?
the OEM have some valve system
which ... you have quiet engine at lower rev
and have more flow (means less restriction) at higher rev...

plz correct me if i'm wrong

as far as I know, "valve exhaust" applied to 328
None E36 325 use that.

about the quiet engine at lower rev, more power at higher rev with valve open..
well, is argueable, but yes, that's is how it should works for the 328 exhaust

I am a newbie and wish to get more info related to this topic.

I currently drive an E36 325i (1994). The exhaust seems to be noisy to me to the point you can hear the car a block away. Its even noisy when in low rev or idling in neutral. it gets noisier when the aircon compressor kicks in. I don't know should I replace the whole works or is there anything I could do to the muffler box to make it silent. When I used a piece of cloth to block the muffler tip, the car was absolutely silent. So there's no leak in the muffler.

Hope to get advise from the sifus here.

Thanks.
