hi seniors, just need to know, what engine model is use for E36 318i 97, is it M40, M43, M44 or something else!. still trying to figure out! been trying to get info from previous forum, but a little bit confused. hope you senior guys can hep me wit this. thanks in advance. :blush:

1.8 SOHC... if it's DOHC it's the M44 1.9 318is

blady cow! thought it was 1.9 DOHC. should hav bought the 325 instead! been driving DOHC all the while for japs... just miss the "s"/ :cry:
