Have read thru the sticky threads and though it was excellent reading, some part of is was as good as Greek to me. Anyways, here's my current basic setup: HU - Sony basic unit (CDX GT350S)Front Tweeters - Stock unitFront Speakers - noneRear Speakers - Sony 13cm 2-Way Coaxial Speaker (XS-GF1322X) - stock locationWoofer - noneAmps - none As expected, sound is very thin and poor in general. Mostly mid to high end sounds (partly due to the HU's effects). Didn't have much $$ then so that was all I could afford. I'm now looking to upgrade my ICE. I don't need top quality sound, just better sound and clarity for decent sound. Base on what I've read here, I'm thinking of doing the following:- - Retain existing HU & rear speakers- Add speakers (prob ard 13cm as well) to the front of the car @ either door or centre column of the footwell.- Upgrade tweeters @ stock location- Add a small subwoofer (not more than 10")- Add a basic amp With the above, I hope to get:- - Better all F/R sound balance - now mostly from the rear- Better clarity - with more speakers and better tweeters- Better all round sound - esp low end with subwoofer & amp Now the questions: - For front speakers, should I get coaxial speakers or components with crossovers? How would it balance with the rear?- I've seen subwoofers with built in amps. Are they ok for what I need?- Any value for money brands that I should look out for? Budget for whole project not to exceed RM1k. Thanks in advance for any help rendered! Cheers!
