Why? bcos in tank fuel pump relies on being submerged in the petrol to get cooled down, (the motor gets hot pumping petrol)... Prolonged usage in near empty fuel tank will cause premature 'death' of the fuel pump... I know there are ppl who pump 1/2 tank and then drive till empty. Not sure to save money or wants to have a lighter load to go zoom zoom.. Each to their own, but beware of the risk associated with premature fuel pump failure.</blockquote>
