howdy folks,just to share my recent experience.last monday,after work,started the car and noticed that the starter was weak turning the engine over.heck ...new battery due soon...or so i thought......continued driving and then the radio went off/on intermittently....hmm...i need a new radio too?&*^(*&^%&^###...!!!after awhile i noticed the temp and fuel gauge showing lower than previous.then the signal indicator green light illuminated dimly and flash frequency erratic,....then i noticed the tachometer dropping....literally...towards zero......and finally about 100 metres from home the engine stalled.tried starting...nothing......my immediate thoughts.....alternator!tueday morning....removed alternator and removed the voltage regulator/carbon brush assembly from d alternator and took it to the friendly electrical shop to have the brushes replaced and the battery charged.the brushes was worn way below limits (6mm).refitted everything back and voila.....:top:damage - carbon brush rm 25 - charge battery - rm4 - 1 day annual leave.,....he he....i like
