Hi,Anyone got a similar problem before on a leak at the back passengers' foot area?Below the insulation is kinda wet on the rear left and right..pls help!

hi chewkies...

you should provide more info about the problem that you have facing.... like does the carpet get wet only when you drive in the rain.... or does it get wet just by parking in the rain or when you go for a car wash...

if it gets wet in a carwash or stationary in the rain, then there is a leak somewhere in the rubber.... could be the from anywhere.....

if water only comes in when you drive, then there is a hole at the undercarriage.... there is a cap at your undercarriage... check if the cap is still in tact.... if it is missing, get a replacement.... if it is still there, you may want to check if it is sealed properly.... the size of cap is a little bigger than a 50 cent.... try it out and see if that is the source....

cheers,

tHANKS
but i dun know the exact scenario...left it wif a mech n when he strips it open i'll have a look i guess...
thanks anyways n will hopefully get to the root of the prob...sigh

hey mate.....i thought ur getting it done this wk?

well like i said, best bet is to check the undercarriage, also check ur rear window panels and like andrew asks.....does it happen only after heavy rain?
but if its at the rear passengers foot area, could b ur b pillar?look for signs of rust around tht area.

difficult to tell unless we actually c the car.
best bet is to get it rectified by the bodywork specialists....

anthing call me okies

rgds,

one possibility:

when i first bought my e30,the LH rear foot well was wet.after thorough investigation, the problem was the rear tail light gasket and boot weather seal.fixed the leak and it's been fine since.the water travels from the boot floor, and made it's way to the rear footwell.how i know?climb into boot, close, ask wifey to wet the car using garden hose and follow the water run. :D

huah....

i'm lost for words....

you're one of those guys that goes to the roots.... my salutes

Wah...u wanna come into my boot??...most welcome.. :D
Thanks...will take note n check it out...thanks for the sharing ...
