Sorry for digging up an old thread but I've got a similar problem with my manual E30 M40 gearbox as the clacka-clacka chattering and other assorted noises of the existing one is driving me crazy and will one day surely give up its ghost. So before that happens, I'd like to know of a good place to have it rebuilt or if anyone's selling, at least have another one on standby. If i'm not mistaken, its a Getrag 240.
