How much is a BMW? What are they advertising about? That is the most important thing to think about.

Sounds about right , bro . Whenever I drive my estima , I dont have to monitor the dash board
as all seems to be working ; no ABS warning lights , no check engine lights , no DSC lights , etc ,

In my UDM , my eyes constantly hawks over the dashboard ....he he he he:listen:

My new UDM will soon be running diff No 4 la. All in a year. ROFL! Ultimate Disaster Machine. I was at AB Glenmarie last week. They still handing out F30s with rust finish seats. Premium brand ar? Quality ar? Joy ar?

Tot of jumping to the four ring brand, but they are far bellow BMW according to this study...

Perhaps the mass commercialization in BMW got the better of them. Now is no longer about quality (to some extent) but more towards churning out the numbers to meet the bottom line. So, quality control is put as secondary against profitability?

BMW Customer service in Malaysia suckz la. I called Chandra about my probs she says I buy from dealer. Dealer says subject to BMW Malaysia ... They take us for fools la

Its the same with Nasim Peugeot. Service sucks at most of their service centers which I have visited. I have been having prob with them over my wife's 308THP.

Agree with megatniza, the survey result sounds about right.

It's basically the philosophy of the company that always pushes technology, what's the point of making a car with same tech but only change in appearance? Might as well call it "facelift". When they are adopting to new and immature tech, reliability issue comes as part of the parcel.

Quality and reliability are 2 separate things. Just like making a coffin, no matter how good quality is still a coffin. But with a coffin with solar air conditioning, that's where the coffin becomes "unreliable". :4:

Although trying new technology tends to have more problems. but the real problem with BMW is that most of the problems are low tech normal items like the radiator, espansion tank, suspension, wind noise, basic air conditioning and my gosh! rusted seats!!!!!

there is no excuse for these BS.

Aiyaa ... Astro, dun start with all the excuses. This BMW is not F1 car la. Its for mass market. Mass market do not enjoy rusty seats, ABS pump that fails after 70k kms, change gaskets every 2 years etc la. Come on. Face the fact that BMW has tons of quality issues esp when they sell it as a JOY to own.

Yup , rusted seat rails ...i have this notion that after e36 / e34 , bmw had started to cut corners . i used to own 2 e36s ( now left with one ) . In general , it's far more robust than e46 . One good e.g , on my ex e36 sedan , the fuel pump konked at 230k . How do i know ? My foreman showed me the konked unit . It was the factory fitted original pump ...he he he

Comparing a no-color handphone with a smart phone. Waste of time to even read.

And don get us started on the squeaks.

I had to remove the cover on the side of the seats. That thing is a squeak haven.

Had to practically fill it up with anti squeak foam tape for it to go away. For a car >200k, this is simply unacceptable. And embarasing even when i have friends in my car.

The seatbelt clasp, the door seal. The list goes on and on.
