guys,can anyone tell me the differences between the E36 318 model before and after 1996.... :huh: ....i thought is about the gearbox or something....i need to know the details.....

cosmetic differences. Engines are the same (M43b18).

Dee,

I think the e36 pre 95 models were all with the m40 timing belt engines and the from mid 95 to 99 they had timing chains (M43 engines) However somewhere in the middle of 96 I think... I think... they added in more things in it.

For example

self darkening rear view mirror
drivers air bags
climate controll air conditioning (i think thats what its called)
centre arm rest ( 98models onwards - I think also)

Must check with the pro's in the club lah for better details

e36 CKD models doesn't come with armrest even on the latest 99' model. Those with armrest are either recond cars or CBUs or add-on by the previous owner.
