http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...=nation&focus=1this is just out on star.KUALA LUMPUR: The Customs Department is tracking down 105 luxury cars, worth nearly RM50mil, which were imported into the country using “recycled” Approved Permits (APs). The scam was uncovered after 142 vehicles underwent a routine inspection at the department’s AP inspection centre in Petaling Jaya over the last two months. “Thirty-seven APs with different serial numbers were used multiple times with different Customs import declarations to bring in the cars,” a source told The Star....It seems there is no end to the hanky-panky of these unscrupulous dealers.

Well, it's again apparent that our Govt authorities have not been working enuff with taxpayers' money (& 5-day weeks) on good governance & striving for 1st world standards. :getyourfactsright:

From what I know, they are not going to prosecute the owners.

They will however confiscate the said vehicles until a valid AP can be issued to it (with the relevant duties and what nots paid, of course).

It is similar to cases when you buy a stolen vehicle, wether knowingly or not.

Maybe the lawyers can advise us on what to do in the urfortunate case this should happen to forummer.
