First time in my driving history, i get charge at 42.00 to patch one nail hole on my tyre.well guess the shop yourself but it is in Taman Tun. :)anyway here is the breakdown:patching - from inside - RM 25.00 - very nice oneBalancing - RM 8Balancing material- RM4 huh want to pay one meh,not included? NOTyre earlier was filled with nitrogen.....after patching re-fill nitrogen - RM 5Once in a lifetime.......experience - pricelessSome more all supervisor are very rude, not helpful at all. :aggressive:

I normally get charged RM 5/- patching from outside.

It doesn't include balancing. What the heck is balancing material ? That should be included with balancing ?

That is what I've been doing also....just bcoz of the nitrogen and "mahu potong" altitude from the shop.

So moral of the story, avoid this shop.

I've been to that same tyre shop that you mentioned to patch a tyre and it cost me RM5 only.

could it be the damage required patching from inside instead of the usual glue stick patch???? what tyre ah???

I have nothing good to say about this shop in TTDI, but can confirm is for rich people or "Live Fish" customers......LOL

i've bought a set of bridgestone potenza tyres for my mum's e46 there & they were helpful & also got a good price i think...they did a good job.
if you weren't happy with the price, why not say something about it instead of biatching about it on here? should have found out how much its going to cost first hand before handing the keys right?

so bro, did u pay or did u try to reason out and bargain with them????

Ur car went over powerdriver izzit so expensive wan??? daylight robbery lah this case....maybe they mistaken ur car with an Enzo or sumthin.......what tyre brand and size are you using currently???

yeps, it is advisable actually to patch fr inside esp fer high performance tyres.

i did the usual glue stick one in a werkshop in usj area (due to urgency, usually at MPS, sunway), but later had to top up the air every now n then (bout every 2-3 days).

last weekend brought the car to MPS n he patched it fr inside, nitrogen refilled n whalla, no more problem. btw the charge wuz bout 20-25 bucks, cant recall :)

You mean 'water fish'? :D

Can't blame him for handing over the keys without asking sometimes. We normally expect tyre patching to cost no more than RM10 - patching RM5 and balancing RM5. And definitely the 'balancing item' is included in balancing...unless theirs is made of platinum lah.

I've been there several times. They view bimmers as luxury cars (regardless of what model) because I've heard them saying 'WAH! so many BMWs ah????'....then their eyes turn into $$$$ sign.

hahahahhah Alex ... wah is like i can patch my tyre ... buy u lunch and kena 2 bottle orkaw ... still got balance for one kecik dunhill...

whoa ... its only 5 bucks lar... plus the weight for balancing usually included where got separate ...

sheeeshhhh .....

sorry to hear this bro... next time u gotts get a quote first ... :D

Patching from the inside as oppsed to sticking a sticky stick thru the hole is recommended.

When you mend from the outside instead of the inside repair, in suay cases, the plug may come lose while you are driving and the result would be like a tyre blowout as the air will rush out from the relatively big hole. You might lose control of the vehicle.

Mending from the inside cost more as it require more work.

You have to remove tyre from car (plug method...dun even need to remove wheels from the car), take out the tyre from the rims....sand down the part where there is a puncture...using a cold patch rubber (just a rubber patch with adhesive) patch on the effect part. Reinstall the tyre to the rim...balance...and put back on car.

SG price for this service is around S$ 18/tyre. OK lah...considering that its safer...and I already pay $5/tyre for tyre rotation/balancing.

Ping-yu, singapore is definitely more expensive la. I paid ten bucks for the patch up work before, definitely a lot more work than just plugging a strip of rubber and no doubt about the superiority of this method.

Yes, Alex you have just been robbed :D :D

Obviously he wouldn't have expected the charges to be this high. Also, once the job is completed you wouldn't have much choice than to pay and just remember to never visit the place again.

I don't think its a case of "biatching", rather a warning for other members.

true true....

sometimes even from the same premise, u have different supervisors and each of them treat customers differently.....

Well, I did check with the supervisor whether they have the RM5 patching and he said "we don't have that here".

So....my car jacked, tyre is out and waiting for my answer (initial cost, RM25 + RM 8) and yes I can still say no by asking them to put back everything (but then no biatching in this forum lo) :)

The message is clear, just my experience and would like to share. If you don't like the story, I can't help it, but I'm sure there are people who will appreciate this experience.

Cheers!!!
