The coolant in my car has not been flushed/changed in close to 4 year. I am planning t do it real soon. Question is, do I need to do flushing with one of those after market coolant flushing fluid before replacing the coolant or do I just need to do a direct flush? Also, what is the recommended spark plug? I am driving 1997 E36 328I. Ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Bro, 4 years never changed or flushed? You are lucky not to have overheat or engine head issue. My suggestion is remove your radiator and send for a service at a radiator shop. Get is cleaned. It may be clogging.

dude,

DIY it la....

http://www.bimmerdiy.com/diy/e36coolingsystem/....minus the thermo removal bit. If not confident, recommend u sent to BMW specialist to get it properly done!

Just make sure there is no air bubble trapped at the end of the day.

Sparkplug just use normal BMW recommended one will do. RM10/each. Change every oil change.... RM60 only mar.... hehehehehhe....:D

I think the manual recommends coolant change every 2 years. I plan to do mine evrey 10000km or 6 months. BMW coolant can be purchased from AB for thirty something ringgit.

Thanks for the reply guys. Will do it this weekend. So I guess a normal flush would be sufficient without using any other chemicals.

Thinking of going to Bosch Super 4 plugs. Is this a good choice? What is the average price of this plug. Read about iridium ones but not sure if it is worth it or not. Any experience?

If you are DIYers', stay with regular NGK plugs. Is reliable and cheap.
Switch to Iridium plugs won't give you any better performance. It just last longer but cost a lot more.
Bosch Super 4 is fancy, but not my cup of tea.
