Confuse..confuse..

Dear All,I just owned an e30 318i year manufactured on 1991. The problem is i saw in the grant it stated engine code 184eb and engine displacement 1766. i searched on net this is the code for M10 engine. i asked my previous owner he confirmed that the engine is M40 version. i am really confused about this and hope all bimmer expertise could help me differentiate this 2 type of engine TQ...p/s cannot join this coming TT, go do some refurbishment..

well, you can do a search over the net to find the difference between m10 and m40. m40 is fue injection whereelse the m10 is carb. post the pic of your engine and we can tell you the difference.
