The safest option is to use any non residue forming contact/electrical cleaner. This stuff can be used on circuit boards to clean carbon contacts/connectors etc. I personally use CRC Contact Cleaner. Pretty pricey stuff but rest assured it will not damage your AFM/MAF. Stuff like Brake Cleaner/Degreaser are way too strong IMHO and could possibly crack the plastic bits or deform the rubberseals.
