Was good to finally meet the man, Yamin himself and the whole CBT team. Our Bimmerfest is featured online, and accordingly should be on printed form pretty soon (hope Jasmine remembers!!)  <a href="http://www.cbt.com.my/news/cat-localnews/1-local-news/190-bmw-carnival.html" target="_blank">BMW carnival</a> Written by cbt Sunday, 22 June 2008 00:00 BMW Club Malaysia, which is recognised by the International Council of BMW Clubs in Munich, recently hosted its inaugural Grand TT and Mini Bimmerfest Malaysia 2008 event. <a href="http://www.cbt.com.my//images/stories/past/22-6-08/bmw.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.cbt.com.my//plugins/content/multithumb/thumbs/b.400.300.16777215.0.stories.past.22-6-08.bmw.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /></a> About 200 BMW cars converged at the car park opposite Sunway Resort Hotel in Petaling Jaya. A handful of powerful BMW bikes from BMW Motorrad around the Klang Valley also graced the event.  According to the organiser, the event was modelled after renowned Bimmerfest events in Europe and North America. Among the establishments set up to display car related accessories, products and to enhance safety driving plus protection of global climate was Continental Sime Tyre, which specialises in supplying tyres, brake systems, vehicle power train enhancement systems and electronics instrumentation. Among the programmes slotted for this event were Concourse BMW and Classic BMW which saw around 400 to 500 enthusiasts and spectators busy discussing and snapping photographs as souvenirs. While most of the participating cars were done up with beautiful paint jobs, some Bimmer owners with 'artistic' ingenuity even transformed their number plates beyond imagination. The Continental Tire Changing Competition saw club members struggling to change their cars' four tyres in record time. - Alex Foo ----------------------------------------------------------- Some pictures that were taken during the launch...
