Mr bro's 2010 Audi A4 also got stolen last year with similar case. The buyer gave the company's chq and took the car. Few days later, he's been informed that the chq is not honour. When i checked from the JPJ, the registration number has been interchanged, and they have done it twice. This is actually a scam, whereby ppl will sell the car as 'sambung bayar' aka continue the loan. The reason why they'll ask for high deposit such as 50-100k, and continue the loan is actually they don't even bother if u pay or not the installment. They just need the quick cash only. The scammers can get the original new registration card, by going to JPJ and ask them to issue the new document and acting as the 'representative' for the car owner. The cost is RM50 to get the new card. Then they'll do the number interchange at Puspakom and walla, the wonder has been done. If ur car stolen in KL, they'll do it at northern or southern area. Usually it'll be the outstation car case. Bank will only chase the car with the original reg. no as they don't know the new number. And most of the time they'll change the number more than 1 time to avoid any detection by the bank. Thats why the car can still have road tax and insurance legally. This system works to the original owner who unable to pay the loan, and don't mind to get their name blacklisted while still keeping the car...hehe. This is another example: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3914772926872&set=o.3005994012&type=1&theater The car is not LCI but they said it is a 2010 car. Another lie Don't ask me why they don't check thru the chasis number, maybe its too complicated or refuse to do extra job? :) And don't ask me why my brother gave the car without waiting the chq to be clear first. As i call it stupidity...he he he p/s: The white color Audi bearing the number from WNR 16, changed to PKR 7797, then changed again to PGT 737. Last unspecified location at Juru City.
