Dear friend,I am looking for a higher ratio for my final drive. Currently i use smaller ratio, maybe 3.25 with M30 engine. I looking for bigger ratio maybe from 525/325. My question is, can it fit into my car? or maybe anyone can advice from which model with bigger ratio, that can actually fit into my car. Thanks.

"higher" ratio meaning "smaller" number. i.e. 3.25 is higher than 3.46 which means 3.25 will generate less rpm on the highway compared to 3.46.

For you info, standard E23 has 3.46 rear end. You might want to find a standard 3.46 final drive if yours is not 3.46 already.

thanks, but i guess mine is 3.25, as its 735i. yes, you are rite about the term 'higher', and i actually looking for lower ratio then...

Mine is 1980 735i 5-speed manual and on the rear differential casing (its LSD on mine) there's a tag that says "3.46". So not sure yours is LSD or not.
