That way, it will not put so much strain on your battery and alternator when the other car try to crank the engine. This is very true when you have a cheapo jumper lead which is rated to about 200 amps.I always carried a jumper leads which is rated to 400 amp in my car for emergency usage. I usually start other people car rather than people start my car. Note: when engine is idle, the alternator voltage is just enough for trickle charging mode.</blockquote>
