Gunung Brinchang Guys, what do you guys know about the current condition of the road from Cameron Highland's Brinchang to Gunung Brinchang? Suitable for a manual tranny E36 to climb? Hmmm, this is starting to sound like that UDM up Genting thread... :p Anyway, if I'm not mistaken, Gunung Brinchang (at approx 6,666ft above sea level, from my memory) should be the highest point accessible by a car in the peninsula side of this country... Was there maybe a dozen years ago during my uni days, in a rented Saga 1.3, gutless as it may be, it didn't overheat, neither did it miss a beat, was on 1st gear most of the way, it was so steep that I couldn't change up from 1st... And while up there, this old late 1970s Mercedes Benz 240D taxi came chugging up with some mat salleh tourists, looked quite effortless too... I guess that is what a diesel is meant for... Btw, Gunung Tahan, the highest point here in the Peninsula is just some 500ft higher or so...
