marvelous architecture...superb engineering...

Indeed... designed by the Austrian based COOPHIMMELBLAU architecture firm, its a great addition the da Bavarian landscape. But it stands as a stark contrast to the BMW Four Cylinder building. Some say its all in the name of trying to outdo their Stuttgart rival but this is typical of contemporary European architecture: designing something completely contrasting with its surrounding context.

I went Munich a week too early. The Welt was due to be open a week later :motz: :motz:

I believe the Welt is just next to the BMW Factory & Museum.

See http://www.bmw-welt.com/web/portal/en/index_highend.html

The BMW factory tour costs Euro 6.00.( I think there is a discount for BMW club members).

I sure if the Club ever organised such a trip to Germany, you would get VIP treatment.

Of course the only inhibiting factor is the costs.

The ticket to Munich, Germany itself would cost RM3000++?

Accomodation at least 100 Euro per night?

Travelling?

Car rental? I am sure if you go all the way there you wouldnt want to miss the chance of driving on the autobahn!

Visting other factories eg Porche & Mercedes in Stuggart.

But it would really be a great event esp if you went with like minded people.

I plan to go to Germany on such a pilgrimage one day soon.

I was there too...Munich is a nice place....

yes bro it will be superb if the club could plan such a trip...so what say committee? 2008/2009? indeed all your guesstimate on the cost are pretty spot on. The hotel room can be shared by 2 pax and perhaps all in all 7k should cover the basic cost (tickets/meals/hotels).
Munich is one happening place.
Autobahn can experienced for the sake of experienced but then again it will not be cheap if you think about car rental. A bimmer will cost around RM 1100 a day.
I was driven on the autobahn by a nice german lady in an E class estate, and she was going at about 190-210, and twice we were overtaken by a porsche, at probably 240-250 and few audis, VWs, well after that I just don't bother. It was a 2 lane stretch outside stuttgart.
