Bro, try comparing with local distributors......Stuttgart ( Taman Megah ) has good pricing on BMW Performance Items. U can also check with Freddie at Obermaier in KL. Both have their own websites...

www.stuttgart.com.my
www.obermaier.com.my

Happy hunting......

Sunnypuan and Gilajazz are having the Brakesets on their beasts........they can advise you further........Sunny and Jeff.....over to you guys......there is a thread on the E90 forums.....do check it out......

Bro Achtung,

BMW Performance Brake kit front and rear set are for 330i and above only. Even for 325i, you need to modify the rear hub to cater the handbrake to function. That's why we only opt for the fronts at RM6400/set at Stuttgart.

Bro Stanley, Are you going to install your wire tomorrow?? I'm going to Suttgart tomorrow....

prepare urself for abt 30%, maybe 20 + 10

It's 30% Import Duty and 10% Sales Tax... Eg RM1000 + Import Duty 30% = RM1300 + 10% Sales Tax = RM1430.00

Oh wow, is it really so easy to fool them? Are samples and gifts duty free? And do you just write it on the 'packaging', and not have to submit a commercial invoice and customs declaration?

under declare and gift or whatsoever there is a risk
shipment lost, u on ur own

bro achtung,

Firstly i doubt the shipping cost of GBP 45 for shipping a (damn heavy) performance brake set to Msia is correct. So pls double check the shipping cost b4 u commit. I hv shipped records (vinyl black records) and one piece cost me GBP 8, and im sure u know how light records are.

Secondly of cos u can get the help of that seller to under-declare the price of the brake to say, GBP100. Most items shiped to Msia that do not cross RM600 should escape taxes. But the collection of such 'heavy' parcels still gota be done fr Pos Msia customs located next to LCCT Air Asia Terminal. Over there, the customs will 'bargain' with u and there are 'ways' to get the product out without taxes.

Thirdly, u can declare the product as 'Product Sample' for testing on a race track. Ask seller to ship fr their company address to a company in Msia. Get one of yr friend's company to help u out so they can provide a valid & legitimate company name & address so yr UK seller can courier the 'sample' company to company. You should be able to escape tax that way too.

Fourthly, if all else fails, contact David Yong as he has mentioned to u about a 'special' way for u to bring it in...

cheers.

I remember those days when I import a particular Italian scooter tune - up parts. Must go only on Sundays, right bfr 5 p.m as the supervisor ain't there and the haggled tax price would be loads cheaper that the normal haggled tax price when the supervisor is around lol. But sure kena give some kopi to the coppers manning the entry and exit gate oso. But nowadays for stuffs that I can hand carry [ as large as a full face, a muffler for a sportsbike plus some gloves, or minus the exhaust but with a couple of leather jackets that I order from abroad ], I'll use my scandal's address at SG and hand - carry 'em via bus from SG to JB liao! :)

Do remember that this site can be viewed thoughout the world, and it frequently pops up on google searches.

ur right its 200 pounds (almost rm 1000 :68::68:)for UPS . just got an email from the seller. 45 was a quote from the website but guess that was wrong. thanks for the info on the taxes bro.

with the possibility of 30% taxes and shipping costs ...doesnt seem attractive now.

front brakes 800 pounds
shipping 200 pounds

taxes assume 30% 240 pounds

total = 1240 pounds = rm 5828 ( 1 pound = rm 4.7) latest

gonna check if the seller would deliver to me coz im goin to london later this month.

then it might be worth it coz even if i declare it when i return, total would be around rm 4900

if customs never check ... cabutzzzz :vroam:
