BMW Group Malaysia Dealer Awards Night Recognises Outstanding BMW DealershipsPremium automaker rewards top-performing dealerships and individuals to commemorate record-breaking achievement in 2011Kuala Lumpur, 15th February 2012 – BMW Group Malaysia recently celebrated the organisation’s successful conclusion of its 2011 financial year with the BMW Dealer Awards Night. The gala evening served to honour the efforts of BMW’s dealership network, specifically top-performing dealers and individuals for their contribution in helping BMW Group surpass its targets for 2011 for all of its Malaysian business units – BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad.Speaking at the awards presentation, Geoffrey Briscoe, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia said, “2011 was another great year for us at BMW Group Malaysia. We were able to reflect on yet another record breaking year of growth where we delivered a total of 5,604 BMW, MINI and Motorrad vehicles. This record figure surpasses our performance in 2010 by 24%.”Briscoe added that the successful year of 2011 was achieved owing to a great partnership and strong dealership network in the country. He said, “This success can certainly be attributed to our respected partners throughout our 15-strong 4S dealership network which plays a great importance in ensuring the record year was achieved. We at the BMW Group believe that the formation of a good dealership is crucial in communicating the premium expression of the BMW Brand to our customers here in the country. All our BMW dealerships across Malaysia are successful ventures and have been charting progressive business growth year on year which makes this awards ceremony all the more special!”In the Platinum Award Category, recognising dealerships that had recorded a turnover of more than 200 cars per annum saw Auto Bavaria Kuala Lumpur walking away with the championship accolade, with Auto Bavaria Penang and Auto Bavaria Sungai Besi coming in 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up respectively.Meanwhile, the Gold Award Category, which comprises of dealerships that had achieved an overall turnover of fewer than 200 cars per annum, Lee Motors from Kedah emerged as the overall champion, whilst Tian Siang Premium Auto from Perak came in second and Melaka-based Seong Hoe Premium Motors took third place. The evening also recognised individual accomplishments through Excellence in Sales awards category for MINI as well as the BMW Vision Club program, which honoured 15 top achieving individuals in the levels of Sales Advisor, Sales Manager and Dealer Principals at BMW dealerships nationwide. The BMW Vision Club award winners were awarded an excellence award certificate, customized business cards, a trophy and special incentive experience trip to South Africa.In the Excellence in Sales category for MINI, Auto Bavaria Glenmarie’s Ms. Puteri Marianna Koay once again walked home with the award whilst BMW Vision Club award winners in the Gold Category at the Sales Advisor level were Sathiya A/L Selvam from Tian Siang Premium Auto and Mr. Jeffrey Tan from Seong Hoe Premium Motors.In the Premium Category at the Sales Advisor level, Ms. Jacelyn Teh and Ms. Sylvia Yap from Quill Automobiles, Ms. Mandy Tang from Auto Bavaria Glenmarie, Ms. Wendy Tan from Auto Bavaria Sungai Besi, Mr. Ellen Low from Auto Bavaria Johor Bahru, Mr. Gan Kok Kee and Mr. Lam Chee King from Auto Bavaria Kuala Lumpur emerged as BMW Vision Club award winners for the 2011 financial year.The awards at the Sales Manager level, meanwhile, saw Mr. Kim Ong from Tian Siang Premium Auto pick up the BMW Vision Club award in the Gold Category whilst Mr. Yeap Cheng Wooi from Auto Bavaria Glenmarie, Mr. Chin Mun Fei from Ingress Auto and Mr. Reuben Chirng from Auto Bavaria Kuala Lumpur taking home the award in the Platinum Category.BMW Vision Club awards were also handed out at the Dealer Principal level where Mr. Tan Ka Kin, the Dealer Principal responsible for the Perak based BMW dealership, Tian Siang Premium Auto picked up the award in the Gold Category whilst Encik Rabian Abdul Rahman, Dealer Principal responsible for Ingress Premium Auto in the Mutiara Damansara area took home the award in the Platinum Category.The BMW Group Malaysia Dealer Awards program this year also saw an addition to its awards incentive programme with the introduction of award categories for outstanding performance in the BMW Aftersales business, recognising individuals in the levels of Technical Expert, Aftersales Advisor and Head of Aftersales. The award winners in the BMW Aftersales categories were also awarded with the special incentive experience trip to South Africa. At the Technical Expert level, the service technicians were assessed based on their knowledge of the products as well as their diagnosis skills. The two highest performing Technical Experts from each dealership were then nominated by their Head of Aftersales based on their performance. The nominated candidates were then assessed by a team of BMW Aftersales Managers from BMW Group Malaysia where the three top performing winners were selected. For the 2011 competition year, the winners were Mr. Loh Kian Yew from Quill Automobiles, Mr. Anthony David from Auto Bavaria Kuala Lumpur and Mr. Raviwarman from Ingress Auto.Winners at the Service Advisor and Head of Aftersales levels, meanwhile, were also ranked top three in each category respectively based on the highest points awarded in the BMW Aftersales business performance within the network.At the Service Advisor level, Mr. Ricky Yeow from Quill Automobiles, Mr. Liew Sun from Ingress Auto and Mr. Adrian Tan from Tian Siang walked home winners for the evening whilst the awards at the Head of Aftersales level went to Mr. Leonard Yeoh from Tian Siang Premium Auto, Mr. Ho Yong Yi from Lee Motors and Mr. Clement Wilson from Ingress Auto respectively.The evening awards ceremony was made more memorable with an exquisite 3-course dinner with a special performance by Ning Baizura.BMW Group Malaysia’s 15 strong dedicated 4S (Sales, Service, Systems and Spare Parts) dealerships across Malaysia provide nationwide services for its BMW customers in the country.
