No need to have it towed if you know of someone that can do the registering of the new battery to the car and yes, each new battery replacement needs to be registered into the car system.However, for the car not being able to start after a new battery has been replaced, its puzzling. Regardless if you have not done the setting of registering the battery to the car, with a new battery, your car should have been able to crank.There must be some other reason why your car refuses to start but I doubt its the battery. Could be some sensor issues.Cheers.
