Anyone tried this fuel pump? I've read on mye28 forum, it says with this you do not need an external pump.

Got new fuel pump for my car last weekend and installed it.

The parts: Fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel lines

Old pump...

Fitted new pump and filter on the newly repainted brackets.

Job done!

Should be a stock replacement. Got it at Bav Auto. Didn't have time to wait for an aftermarket one. Some put in Walbro, TRE or Vega pumps, those are high flow pumps for turbo conversion. Also read about Walbro pumps whines loudly, so wasn't interested in that.

how much did this one cost you...i have a feeling that my fuel pump is on its way out....the TRE one sounds good though...i wonder if upgrading with the TRE and having and external pump as well will double up the fuel pressure?

Does your car come with single pump or double pump? Mine is Euro spec, so it's single external pump. That's the bosch unit that replaced. The replacement pump is longer than the original. TRE & Walbro pumps has higher flow, pressure is the same. As pressure is regulated by FPR, should be 2.5bar unless uprated.

RM406 for my new Bosch unit. Runs well, no more weird noises anymore.
