The survey, which included the reliability record of nearly 900,000 vehicles in 2008, also showed that Bmw was the most dependable carmaker overall. In a momentous victory over Japanese carmakers who usually dominate in the reliability survey category, Bmw led the charts in this year’s annual FN50 reliability poll. The Bmw 3-Series was the highest rated version for reliability, with the Mini hatch and Bmw 1-Series also making it to the top ten, at fifth and seventh places, respectively. Photos after the jump! The poll collected by Fleet News looked at multi-marque leasing companies. In all 881,000 cars were reviewed based on the number of breakdowns per 100 of each type of model on each leasing company’s fleet. Point awards were given depending on the number of times particular brands or models come out in the tables supplied by the leasing companies as well as the position in which they were found.</p></blockquote><p></p>
