Black trim, who likes it?

I don't particularly like the trim, but no matter what I think removing the trim also removes the character of the car. Has anyone removed it and filled the holes?

No need to remove it, you can have it sprayed to match the body color and it will look much nicer.

forummer "panerai" has done some serious make up to his car, removing the trims all around his car and plaster all flat...looks a little weird though..

the trim is one of of the intresting lines of an E36...keep it bro!!

I would second sachseelan . the trim does add some character to the car . i am
having my car resprayed to alpine white but i specifically told the workshop to keep the trim black .

Hmm, how bout making those trims thinner and making it chrome? Would that look great? I wish I was like Chip Foose . He's godlike!

After some fast and dirty photoshop, here's a mockup with the following changes:

a) chrome trim
b) removal of black trim on bumpers
c) relocating fender side indicator lights

i dont think he put up any pictures here... if you wish to see his car, its parked at Sunway Hotel everyday... sometimes inside or outside... Its a black 318i wt a AC badge.
bro panerai is at Euphoria(MOS) every nite!! some of you should know him, quite a popular guy in the party industry. some of his mods: AC bodykit, no trims at all, e46 style fender side signal, e46 style front nose which is opened together wt hood etc...

yes & yes ! had never liked the black out kidney grill too . think it makes the car looks cheap .
IMHO , the E36 with complete M3 or AC bodykit & the correct suspension set up is the the way to go - understated yet menacing ! :top:

can do you own touch up it's a minor scratch .

some like it black

Hey guys. Yea, sometimes i look at my car and prefer the black trim too. But since i've gone the other way. No turning back.
No its not CF, its gloss black, to mimmick the look of a glass roof. *pain in the ass to maintain.

stig. Got bigger pics here. The first was before the M3 bumper and the other is after the bumper. More projects to come, got many CF to add.
