Let me give you the racun....

I think taiwanese rims are ok and we have plenty of them here. Unless you are planning to go racing with them and subject them to a lot of kerb riding action ( on track ), high sustained lateral G forces....and very frequent high speed work - they will do fine. Actually I did use Taiwanese rims for our Toyota race car and they were ok.....

I note you drive a e39 so you be crusing more.....

Yes, if you can find ori - then go that way but frankly, getting a ori BBS matching your needs is like striking lottery. I am waiting for my 15" version ( for my e30 ) since 10 years! Btw, you can bet it wun be cheap when the ori one comes along too.

Ori ones especially for E30 have seen many miles and years aledi... My set of BBS RS is stamped Made in West Germany.... And when did the Berlin Wall fall???

for which car u plan to put the wheels boh?
for me personally, i prefer the original. just because the sentimental value it has. the feeling is different.
but if you are not into that and if it's too difficult to get the original one just go ahead with the taiwanese.
they'll do just fine i guess.

I imagine getting an original staggered 18" BBS for e39 is hard... really2 hard..
However, I do hope to get a good set... how do I measure the quality of these taiwan makes?
