Message: <blockquote data-quote="E46Fanatic" data-source="post: 219515" data-attributes="member: 81">Based on the owners manual, I believe the diesel E46 variants use the largest battery and the 4 pots the smallest.  Size wise the mount for the battery is adjustable in the trunk.  However for the clamp you may need to go to check out spare/used parts store to get the size for an E46 6 pot battery clamp. Anyway, the interesting thing is that the CKD 6 pot E46 comes with NS80 battery which is bigger than what was specified in the owners manual.  Thats what I remember, but its a good thing.  They last 5-6 years, and perhaps put less strain on the alternator in our hot tropical weather.  I suspect this is the reason they came with bigger batteries.</blockquote>
