ATF and radiator coolant

Dear all Sifu,Is there any special ATF fluid for bmw gearbox?Or i can use any brand like japanesse cars?and what brand is the best ATF fluid to be use for my auto gearbox?For coolant,can i fully fill my radiator with coolant instead of mixing with water?what is the pro and con if i do this way?Thanks in advance.

I would suggest you use BMW ATF or ZF if you have a ZF gearbox. I would not want to use any other type of ATF because I did once on the 39 and it killed the gearbox.

You don't want to use all coolant in your radiator because coolant will reduce the efficiency of water. Just put in the recommended mixture 30-50% coolant. You need coolant just to protect your water pump.

Dear all,

Can anybody tell me what is the right transimission fluid for my 05 525? Changed the transmission fluid and oil pan but mechanic pour in ZF semi synthetic transmission fluid. Dont know whether this is the right fluid to last another 30K KM, before the next iol change
