The moral of the story is - Speeding is speeding whether it is the left, center, right or even emergency lane. Those permitted to speed are VIPs, VVIPs, those with an emergency, emergency vehicles and those escorted by the police. The bottom line is - The right lane is the OVERTAKING lane not the FAST lane. So the only time you are allowed to be on that lane is when you need to overtake. The lane should be empty except for vehicles overtaking the one in front of them to get back into the middle lane. Question - What if you are on the middle lane and you want the overtake the car in front of you and that car is already travelling at 110kmh? Physics dictate you will have to travel more than 110kmh to overtake using the right lane. So does that mean you will have to break the law to overtake? I'm curious as in Kuching City we have no highways. We have stretches of road with turning-offs almost every 100 or so meters so most people who need to drive to the speed limit use the right lane. Using the left lane means slowing down and speeding up every 100 or so meters because drivers want to enter the turning-off or there are those exiting the turning-off. Salut
