Bro spend some time to search from the forum for your answer, tips for u MONTOYA posting. If can't get it let me know.

Bro.. easy.. Just follow this sequence:

1) Press lid (odometer button) of the counter - and hold!!
2) Turn your car key to pos#1- whilst you still pressing the lid
3) You'll see the monitor prompt reset. Keep pressing until u see "Test1" word.
4) Release lid, press and hold again until u see "Reset" word, keep hold press key until "Reset" word blinking
5) Release the lid and press once again. Screen will prompt "END SIA"
6) Turn your car key off and turn on again for complete the reset
7) BOoOm!! You'll see the counter back to 25,000!

Hope this will help. I even can reset the counter at the side-road without cost me a penny! :top:

Not all problem can be solved by spending money la taiko... Just my little 2 cents

Not if the scanner involves OBD II diagnostics... then it will be worth the money... Sometimes not all things can be done FREE :)

It's up to u.

Fireuz is correct in his procedure. That is the method to reset if you dont the scanner.

It is free and easy to do. For E36, you need to use a jumper wire and short No. 7 and ground for about 10 seconds or so
to reset the old service light.

bro, the scanner only tell you what is wrong with the car based on the error message.
You still need a mechanic who is specialize in BMW to understand the error code and offer a solution to it.

Another ways is follow Montoya thread DIY simple oil service reset.
Some time ppl only taking advantage, just easy open a thread and ask for solution instead of searching the answer by them self from the forum. This kind of ppl suppose to introduce them to buy the scanner.

Sorry bro Alex, dont mean to waste bandwidth space just to start a thread and dont mean to get things out easily. I did try sort it out by typing in the search engine on this forum related to this thread's topic, ended up in the Bermuda Triangle.

This was the thread from bro Montoya :

Smile DIY simple oil service reset.

got this from another forum. tested on a local 325i. it works like a charm. so like to share with you guy.

"To reset the indicator:
-The car should be off
-hold down the left instrument button (the trip odometer reset)
-while holding the key, turn the ignition to position 1 (radio)
-you will see a test menu
-keep holding the button
-after maybe 10 seconds, the word "reset" will appear
-let go of the button and press again
-THe indicator is reset!"

have funs.
