Hey guys,When i bought my 525i, it came with the M metallic or aluminium cube trim.My car is about a week old and when i bought it, i asked if i could swap the trim for the black woodgrain that comes in the 530i but was told that it would be a 6k retrofit. :beaten: So anyhow, if anyone with a 523i with the brown woodtrim or even better the 530i with the black woodgrain trim wants to swap for my aluminium cube trim, let me know lah.. hahahprovided its in good knick.. mines about a week old and of that 11 - 12 days ive owned the car, its been in ab for the past 3 days. Getting minor stuff fixed.. Thanks alotBest Rgrdskenny

But Kenny, why bother tampering with it...when u put a woodtrim, it wont look sporty anymore. Besides woodtrim is so common nowadays. Even comes in Toyota or Waja....

I share the same feeling with kenny. Whilst I like the exterior looks of the new 525 I don't like the interior aluminium trim. It looks very cold and does not give it the premuim feel. I've test driven the new 525i with R6 218hp engine and did not find the power that much more than my 192hp pre-R6 engine. Maybe it has not been fully run in yet. But the road holding around corners is much firmer and very stable. Ride was surpriingly not as harsh as I had expected.

Now thinking of a changing to the M-tech 18 wheels!! Anyone wants to buy a second hand 1 yr old 17in 525i wheels that's in superb condition, no nicks or scrathes???

BTW, the quality of the wood trim in the BMW is vastly different and superior than that of a Waja lah! :p

Its a good thing johnchen piped in there.

I think that wood trim adds alot fo the interior ambience of a BMW especially the 5 series.

I would definitely swap out the current aluminium M-Tech cube design interior trim for some black wood colored dark poplar or was it anthracite poplar woodgrain trim.

The Necessary: I'm 21. Wanna swap me with the trim in your mom's 530d? Presumably you have the woodgrain trims.. hehe. :)

maverick00: I think that the exterior of the car is sporty enough and when im inside, i think that wood really adds to the overall experience of driving a premium priced BMW.

OK guys you have driven your point home well.....actually I was in for the woodgrain too :D but was somehow trying to convince myself that hey"it's sporty" simply bcoz there is no way I can get AB to change it for me FOC.
