Alternator burnt smell

Assalam n gud day guysScenario1.Yesterday I warming up my E46 1.9 Y2000 after few days remain at the garage then after few minutes I switched off as normal2.Today I'm failed to unlock the car then I go manually - ok unlock but only the driver side door3.Then I try on the ignition but nothing appear - totally blank4.Check all terminal connection - battery n jumper terminal all ok ( suggested by sir jarance in previous thread )5.Then next step I go for jump start at the jumper terminal - ignition on with all the lights on6.Then I turn the key to start - only heard click click sound n the burnt smell at engine bay7.When smell surrounding at engine bay - smell coming from the alternator8.I stop all the activies and begin typing on the forum - what shall I do ?Thanks in advance for input me then I can make right solution after this
 
Don't try to start the car again. Get your mechanic or car wiring specialist to take a look. Alternatively make use of your insurance free towing service & have the car towed to your mechanic.
 
Step 5.. How did you do the jump start?

You battery is completely flat.. You show allow to charge the flat battery for about 30 minutes before attempt
to crank the engine.

Please check why your battery lost all the charge. There seem to be a shorting somewhere.
Please find out ASAP where the shorting is as it will cause a fire or burnt the wiring harness.
