My car is now in AB Glenmarie due to some glitches..... at the same time i asked them to check my wheels to see if they need rotation and alignment, and indeed yes, it does need to be aligned. However they are charging me RM200.00 for it, and said it can only be done in AB and no where else, can anybody help me on this ????

M5port, you mean AB told you that on they can do the alignment ??

JYazid if i heard correctly , yes ONLY .... hehe.. but i collected my car today, as usual none of the problems been fixed... but they did the alignment... and didn't charge me ? haha...weird...

good for you man....usually allignment must pay...i'm very sure non-AB workshops can also do allignment for e60...

AFIK, you can do alignment in any well equipped, reputable and knowledgeable places. Did they rotate your tires? I thought it was BMW AG's policy to not rotate tires, something to do about weight distribution and wear...

Hi M5port,

If your car is still under warrenty they will not charge you for the alignment. AB recommend that you do it at their place for a simple reason. For 5 series with Active Steering (some 520i don't have it), they have a computer that will automatically correct your steering alignment, i.e. if your car is tracking straight but your steeering wheel is off center. Only they have that computer that will send a signal to the Active Steering and straighten it out without having to resort to adjusting manually the tie rod, etc under the car.

Otherwise, send your car to the newer tire shops that have the latest settings for the BMW E60. There's a shop in Taman Megah, PJ that I send my car to. I just replaced my run flats with normal tires but upgraded to 245/45/17 Pirelli PZero Rosso using back the same original 525i wheels.

Cheers!

Dear John.

My car is still under warranty definitely, but been told that alignment is not under the 3 yrs or 60k KM part + service package... however, when i collected the car yesterday, the alignment indeed has been done. but the problems what was initially the reason i sent in the car are not. bummer....

Also because of this, i am wondering if i change my rims to 19" or 20" , should i bring it back to AB ? because usually the tyre shop will do it inclusive.

If you buddy with the AB supervisor and get to know him better you'll be surprise at what they can do for you. But it does not guarente that your problems will be solved.

I know one of the supervisor who have tried many times to fix the "loose railing" of my driver seat but still can't after 3 tries and have now said he will change the whole seat power mechanism for me. Also having some creaking noise from the driver door. The sound is coming from the plastic step guard when the door rubber seal presses against it when going around bends. Very annoying esp after paying 400K you'd not be expecting such noises.

I have problems with my radio signal which keeps on going on and off every few minutes, sometimes a few times in a minute. They say its the auto frequency tracking device. Bluetooth too have some problems, it disconnects very often in the middle of a conversation. Annoying things that I need to bring back and get it fixed before my 2 yrs warranty runs out!
