Dear sifus, senior members, X5 owners...I just joined this forum a few days ago.Just got back from Ireland and brought back my E53 X5 3.0i Sport.Currently planning to upgrade aircon, service, rust proofing etc.I would appreciate it if anyone here brought back an X5 from UK can share their experiences on how to prepare the X5 for tropical country use!Thank you!!

Don't think changing the aircond is necessary . I have an imported E46 M3 (UK) and the aircond is as cold as the local models. So I am guessing the components are the same but I have not checked the part numbers yet.
The dealers here will tell you the DME software is different to compensate for our lower quality fuel as well but you will probably have to pay an adoption fee before they work on your car. Differs from dealer to dealer as well.
Rustproofing should also not be necessary as conditions over there are worse than here (salt on roads, winter, etc.)
