AB or Specialist?

Hi GuysMy E46 318i warranty ended this year. All this while has been maintained by Auto Bavaria (AB). Thinking of bringing it to BMW specialist for maintenance and repairs, or should I stay with AB. Any difference in price and how about warranty on parts from the specialist? Will appreciate your comment and advice, and recommendation.

If you have tons of money and don't mind making AB filthy rich on YOUR hard-earned money, fine, get AB to maintain.

If not, try out a few of the specialists and stick with the one you like. A word of caution tho, not all specialists are equal. Some better than others. Some can also be more expensive than AB.

Get advice from other e46 owners as to where they go for their servicing and repairs.

Hopefully by 2020, Malaysia will have at least 1 specialist ISO certified for workshop practice.

sometime depend on user.....
if the car bought frm AB, they will give speacial discount for regular customer..

if the car bought frm other car dealer ..... you should consider 1st ..

Consider AB if repair involves electronic items and hugh amount because they will give you warranty.

Otherwise for small mechanical items like brake discs, brake pads, oil change you can consider outside mechanic which will generally be cheaper.

...when considering service providers other than AB, it's always wise to ask if they provide any sort of warranty for both the products that they sell & the workmanship that they perform, which reasonably abled service providers will offer for either or both..

...this allows you to return to the service provider in case something was not done correctly the first time around...even AB may have issues ie. the service provided in Sg Besi, I find, is better than Glenmarie...the PJ AB was excellent when there was an AB in PJ...

...we normal drivers are generally, not in the car restoration business, we just want our ponies to be shod & treated well for many 'ultimate' journeys to come...

...but ofcourse, ' caveat emptor ' or ' let the buyer beware ' rules the day...
