At that point of time, BMW made up to 6cylinders only. The V8's were not made for some time. If I'm not mistaken the last BM with a V8 was the 507 then they stopped making V8's till about 1993. Anyway.....the reason its called a 745 was because it had the output to match a 4.5l engine. The LHD 745i's were turbo'd(252hp) and the RHD also known as the South African model were N/A. The South African model was basically using the same engine as the M635 and the e28 M5. This was a more powerful engine(286hp) using twin cams and boasting 24valves before Mercs were even using 3valves per cylinder. This engine made its debut in the M1. Boon Han, Its a LHD half cut.I think the steering will have a problem converting to RHD but maybe the turbo and exhaust can be rerouted to rectify that problem. But seriously I hope it makes it into the hands of another LHD 745 owner. It would be a waste to see the halfcut just being twisted and modded just to fit. Mazin aka whl
