7 digit chassis number and Puspakom

Wondering if anyone can advice. I've just sold my e46 which is a new import by Cartrade. However, on inspection by Puspakom, they failed the inspection as they could not find the ultra long VIN/chassis number stamped on the body. Just the last 7 digits appear. Auto Bavaria has confirmed that some BMWs have this 7 digit stamping only. So where do I go from here?Advice from AB Sungai Besi is for them to stamp the rest of the digits. AB Glenmarie says they need approval from JPJ first before they can proceed. Both solutions seem needlessly troublesome. Is there a more logical way to move forwards? What bugs me is that I am the third owner, and this problem didn't occur during the past transfers. Even the original Puspakom stickers are still on the windscreen!
