Today i am looking at a 525i MSport 06 local version, magnesium engine, push start, all ok, only issue is the TV screen is 6" and no navigationCan someone advise me if I were to change to bigger 8.8" screen will cost me how much?Also, to add in Navigation module will cost me how much?I am considering a local version 525 and Japan version which need to change CCCAdvise appreciated

u will need to get the navigation pro retrofit for the local spec 525i MS which is about RM28k from AB/Ingress/Sapura. From non-authorized dealer then it should be around 15k but i'm not sure...

basically the retrofit kit is consists of the 8.8" screen, CCC, iDrive Controller-HIGH and one bunch of cables...

btw i am selling my car which happens to be what you are looking for...with navigation retrofit installed...pm me if you are interested...

Eh... I thought 525 M-Sport comes with standard 8.8" screen rather than 6"???

In this case, I'd suggest that you buy Japanese specs... coz its semi-bucket seats are cool, low mileage and well-taken care of... it should come with standard 8.8" screen. The only setback is that you will have to change to UK/MYS spec CCC... plus everything it should cost less than RM10k... probably can get around RM9k. Please check with Obermaier Motorsport (Freddy) at Jalan Ipoh for the CCC conversion.

make sure u check the service history...if the car only has oil change at every 25k km then the sludge built-up shud be quite significant depending the how the owner used it...a badly sludge up engine normally has a hint on the engine oil cap...

other than the electronics the e60 shud be mechanically reliable car...:top:

so next project after getting the car was..
1) since retrofit cost >20k, i will remain that 6.6 inch lcd, and go for garmin solution, any advise on where and which model to go for it?
2) i was told by my friend that in order to get garmin to work, i will need a pcm module too, is that true? and how much it cost?

As for your questions:
Try to bring your car to Obermaier Motorsports @ Jalan Ipoh and look for Freddy... get a quotation from him first ok?? After that, then only you decide... if you are going for Garmin solution... you will have to install an interface which will cost you in the region of RM2200-2400... and the latest Garmin module in the market should be Gvn53 which is also around that price. I'm using Garmin and so far it's very good... try CV Audio. They have a few branches in Kuchai Lama, Ampang, Damansara Utama... I did mine in Damansara Utama... if you are interested, pls google this name and you should be able to find out the contact details. Otherwise get a copy of Motor Trader and they have an ad...
