Hi everyone,

Im considering of getting a 320i Sport or M Sport. Any suggestion from anyone?

i would do a minor modification, like rims & bodykitz, which M sport do provide, but the rims personally im not really into it. But my friend does suggest that not to change to other rims as the weight some kind of things will affect the performance, is that true? If it's not, do you guys suggest to change outside instead of BMW? bodykitz as well..

And 1 more question, does anyone of you do interested on ICE? A lot of ppl tell me that NOT to change anything for the sound system, because it's connecting with the board, i did try the sound system in 320i, it doesnt up to my expectation. Anyone knows any expertise in Penang? can intro to me?

Hope you guys would help to solve my silly question. Since this is my 1st BMW, i dont want to feel regret after getting all, since all expertise is here, hope you guys can give me some comments.

Thank you so much all.

The 20k retail price difference between both is not merely on cosmetics but on handling/performance too as the M-Sport comes with tuned sports suspension which costs about 8k in the market.

Check the weight of the ori rims. Some original (not Taiwan) aftermarket rims ie BBS/Breyton are in fact lighter than the ori BMW ones altho I reckon the ori rims can withstand the abuse of our roads better eg poth holes.

What is your intended modification of the ICE? The stock ones should suffice as it comes with amps etc. Most of the boys went for the plug&play speakers replacement instead (stock is from Panasonic). Aftermarket names ie Focal or Gladen Audio offers direct P&P replacements.

I will go for M Sport for those that likes to drive "enthusiastically" :) Go test drive in both and feel for yourself

Forgot to add:

M-Sport specced BMWs are lowered and has thicker ARBs as well.

Ya Wingzee, understand all that, maybe im only drive at normal speed, performance is "okok" for me only, comfortable/smooth is the priority. And the sport suspension, im wonrdering it would make the car feel more "bumpy"??

I've tried on 320i sound system, it really doesnt up to my standard and honestly, i cant accept. Im very particular on it, although it comes with amp n etc, but too many advises that DO NOT modified anything especially now most of the car is connecting to the board, omg..

Yes Canuck, will go for test drive, but sometimes test drive couldnt tell too much of "feeling", so im here to ask all the expertise, and i believe that you all will be telling me all truth than the sales person.

Thanks to you guys, hope i can have more comments n feedback from anyone of you.

Gannan,

It seems to me, you are not the type that will drive it like you stole it kinda guy. You seemed to be more of a cosmetics person since you mentioned that you plan to mod the body kits. In this aspect, a 320i or even a 316i will suffice for you.

Also, comfort is a deciding factor. Yes, The M Sport suspension can be a little too firm for ones liking however, you yourself need to decide which is best. let your butt decide on this matter. To me, again, a 320i or 316i should be enough.

As for the sound system, your friend is correct. Any wires cut, your warranty goes with it. Any over voltage or current leakage, you get different types of error message popping up. Hence, a plug and play system is needed. There are many plug n play systems made just for BMW like wingzee commented. However be warned, it is not cheap. If you are planning for a second hand and the warranty is over, mod away !

Just input from a clueless newbie.

Ya YF, that's the reason. But anyway, let me ask a silly question, 320i to upgrade to the m sport aerodynamic kits, can be done at outside bodykits shop? I do see BMW do provide as well, but are they sending our car to the shop out there to do that? As i know, like other brands they do in this way, and charges is double or tripple.

for ICE, as what you n Wingzee mentioned, i wish i can find it, aiks... couldnt find a good system n installer in Penang. i dont wan to spend so much and come out with a "ah beng" style. previously was going a shop but they had closed down due to Penang low demand ICE kaki.

Body kit. ...available outside.

ICE ....cannot find in Penang, should be able to find in KL.

Thanks YF for sharing the video, upgrading the sound system without cutting any wires, but still need my "ears" to approve, LOL.

anyway, i see BMW do sell aerodynamic bodykits, are they sending the car to do at outside? i mean the quality and the material are exactly the same? Or BMW provides better quality? Sorry please correct me if im wrong.
