To replace the filter, the oil pan has to be opened, draining most of the oil available (eg 6.5L over a total of 9.2L for a ZF 5hp19). Thus, the oil need to be filled to replace what was drained and the oil pan gasket also need to be replaced.</p><p></p><p>Use original BMW or Parts manufactured by your transmission manufacturer to ensure you get the right product.
