The 2008 Nurburgring 24 Hours was completed last month. Guess who got a podium finish? A BMW E46 M3 actually finished 6th, ahead of many Porsche GT3!

Other finishers to note is the new VW Scirocco, running a 2.0T petrol engine, finishing in 11th and 15th. The drivers for the VW finishing in 15th included 2-time World Rally Champion Carlos Sainz and ex-BMW and Porsche works racer Hans Stuck (who won Le Mans with Porsche and the Nurburgring 24 Hours in a BMW M3 GTR).

A BMW 320d also finished 13th, with BMW WTCC driver Jorg Muller one of the drivers.

Some quirky cars which finished the race :

In 96th place, an Opel Astra Caravan.....

In 104th place, a Kia Pro-Ceed which ran on road tyres..........

In 105th place, a Mercedes 190 Evo II, the car is more than 15 years old and it finished one place ahead of a Lambo Gallardo!

In 115th place, a ROVER Mini Cooper........
